Mode guide · Club + national team

World Cup

This mode pairs one club with one national team instead of two clubs. A valid answer played for the club and represented the displayed country at senior international level.

Format: Solo or onlineKnowledge: Club + nationality

Combine two kinds of career knowledge

Classic mode asks for a player shared by two clubs. World Cup mode shows one club and one national team. If a Premier League club is paired with Senegal, for example, find players who represented Senegal's senior team and played for that club.

Birthplace alone is not enough

A valid answer needs a senior appearance record for the displayed national team and a valid career record for the club. Dual citizenship, youth internationals, or eligibility alone do not create an answer.

Why this distinction?

Being eligible for a country and actually representing its senior national team are different records. Game validation uses the second condition.

Solo and online flow

Hints
The classic letter-reveal and point-reduction rules remain in place.

Three routes to an answer

  1. Think through the club's recent foreign players country by country.
  2. Recall major tournament squads and scan each player's club career.
  3. Use common transfer routes between the league and country, without overlooking short loans.

How is national-team data separated?

The World Cup index is built separately from the main club career data and uses additional overrides and audit files for senior international coverage. This prevents club membership and national-team representation from being mixed.
