The draw is part of the clue
When the day's pairing opens, two clubs appear. The hidden answer is one preselected footballer who played for both. Other shared players may exist, but only the target solves that day's puzzle.
Use the on-screen keyboard to enter the player's full name. First name and surname appear as separate words on the board, and submitting uses one of the six guesses.
Letter feedback narrows the next guess
- Green letter
- The correct letter is in the correct position.
- Gold letter
- The letter appears in the answer but belongs in another position.
- Dim letter
- The letter does not match that position; its keyboard state helps with later guesses.
The letter count and word break follow the target's full name. Another shared player does not become correct just because the length matches.
How is the Daily leaderboard ordered?
A correct answer scores 6 points on guess 1, 5 on guess 2, and 1 on guess 6. Higher score ranks first; when scores tie, a faster solve has the advantage. Nicknames are limited to 20 characters, and the first daily score is associated with the device identity.
- Daily
- Only scores from the current day's challenge.
- Weekly
- The period total of daily points saved under the same device identity, with participation days shown.
- Monthly
- The sum of daily points and days played within the month.
Archived puzzles are for practice
You can reopen recent challenges from the Daily Center archive. Solving an archived puzzle is useful for learning and fun, but it cannot submit a leaderboard score. This prevents missed days from being recovered later for streak or period points.
Successful and failed results
After a correct guess, the final row remains visible briefly before the result card opens with time and guess count. If all six guesses are used, the card reveals the answer. Both outcomes include sharing and menu actions; only a successful result from today offers score submission.
